On the afternoon of November 24 and 25, more than 60 artisans gathered at WEM to paint their impressions of World Expos with enamel glaze.
The experience with cloisonn└ was co-sponsored by WEM and the Lyu¨s Jewelry Art Studio.
Instructor demonstration
The instructor first introduced the origin, history and catetories of enamel decoration, including cloisonne, and then showed the participants some pieces of cloisonn└-decorated porcelain, comparing the developments of the decorative technique in China and in the West.

The instructor led the participants through the cloisonn└-making process step by step from forming patterns,soldieringmetal strips to filling the spaces with enamel glaze, calling attention to each key point.

Hands-on
The experience taught the participants about the exquisiteness of the craft. It was difficult as it was the first time for every one of them, but they did a good job!
The event also attracted a lot of children who helped their parents complete the craft.
