World Expo Museum (hereinafter short as “WEM”) will participate in Astana Expo 2017, Kazakhstan themed at “Future Energy” from June 10 to September 10, 2017, and build a “World Expo Museum Pavilion” inside the Expo Site. It will take advantage of Astana Expo 2017 to carry out cultural exchanges with all countries and international organizations, develop its own business based on the overall deployment of Shanghai cultural exchange with foreign countries, integrate resources, create platforms and set up an open pavilion, improve its own business, tell good “Expo Stories” in the international language on the world stage, and showcase the cityscape of Shanghai.

“WEM Pavilion” is arranged at C3.2 inside the Expo Site, close to the east entrance of the Site. It has an exhibition area of more than 600 square meters. The theme of the participation is “Everything Begins with Expo – Expo * Expos Travelling Exhibition of BIE”. The exhibition will use the language of art space to tell the Expo history of more than 160 years, WEM and the upcoming Expos. Meanwhile, the exhibition will stick to Astana Expo’s theme of “Energy” to express the energy-related stories in a unique and creative way.

To participate in each session of World Expo is one of the important tasks for WEM to fulfill the mission of BIE, inherit Expo heritage and achieve its own sustainable development. As a cooperation project between Shanghai Municipal Government and the BIE, World Expo Museum will expand the communication and cooperation with the Expo international family. In addition to various forms of graphic boards and display windows, such artistic forms as multimedia exhibits, multimedia technologies and modern devices as well as open Expo exhibits and sculptures will also help to create an elegant and comfortable environment for the visitors. Remarkably, the innovative video, Expo Historical Stories, will give a presentation of overall Expo development timeline. The exhibition will also launch VR interactive experience project to enable audience to tour around the world and view different cityscapes through a shocking and immersive visual experience.
